My Background
Hello there! My name is Jon Snyder. I am a professional musician and guitarist based in the Evansville area. I have been studying and playing the guitar for 40 years, performing professionally for over 30 years, and teaching full time for over 25 years.
Even after so many years of playing the guitar, it is still a passion for me and an endless pursuit of learning and growing. This love of music and the guitar is what fuels me as a teacher. It truly is a joy to share the many things I have learned and am STILL learning to students of all ages and experience. In fact, my passion for teaching equals my passion for playing.
What Makes Me Different?
There are so many great players and teachers in this area, some I have studied with in the distant past and many that I admire and have enjoyed collaborating with. The thing that sets me apart is my focus on offering a complete music experience beyond just private lessons. In the past two decades it has become clear to me that group learning, rehearsing, and performing, along with private instruction, is the key to students progressing at a much faster rate. And playing music with others isn't just key to creating a well-rounded musician, it's also a lot of FUN! Remember, this is supposed to be fun! And I can tell you from a lot of experience, the students love it.
